Natural Reserve EL ALMEJAL

80% of the Lodge area has been declared a private reserve in order to conserve the surrounding ecosystem.  An ecological path has been created for educational and recreational purposes. Guided walks, climbing and rappelling of giant trees are practiced.

You will see the exuberance and wisdom of the tropical rainforest. This is the place to observe the perfect balance of nature as a living entity where every species, from the largest to the microscopic, perform vital functions for this ecosystem.

During the walks along the path, we will provide interesting information about the adaptation mechanisms and survival strategies of the species.  Your senses will be awakened to the many secrets that you will discover. But especially, open your eyes wide because in the midst of all the hues of green, you might spot the intense blue Morpho, the most beautiful butterfly in the world, fluttering about in all its majesty and peacefulness, on iridescent wings of blue.

And be prepared to find among the giant trees, plants from the age of dinosaurs, trees that depend on ants for their survival, red flowers that look like sensual lips.  Discover facts like the shape of leaves is not created at random while you listen to parrots, toucans and woodpeckers going about their way.
