The region is blessed with four migrations a year—birds, turtles, humpback whales and anchovies, which are large schools of small fish that attract other bigger fish thus giving the area a perfect season for sport fishing. |

Pacific Coast is the tide changes. This phenomenon is caused by lunar attraction; since the Pacific Ocean is the largest water body on the planet, the slow changes from high tide to low tide are evident. Thus, at low tides which occur every 12 hours, you can enjoy an immense stretch of 150 meters of beach that is ideal for sports like volleyball, jogging, tai chi, yoga and trekking. |

When the tide recedes on this beach, small wells of water rich in oligoelements are formed near the rocks. They are warmed by the sun and turn into natural jacuzzis. You can take a dip in this very healthy and relaxing therapy. |

Behind the beach, the foothills of the exuberant tropical rainforest of the Baudó mountain range can be seen. In this forest, you can find the richest expressions of life; a saturation of species of all colors and dimensions superimpose from the ground to the highest treetops. Light streaming through the foliage reflected in the dew drops, soft singing of the frogs, the birds and the wind—this is the feast to which you must come prepared…and let senses be enraptured. A 35 minute boat ride from The Lodge takes you to Ensenada de Utría Natural Park, home of the planets vital ecosystems—mangrove swamp, coral reef, rainforest and the sea. |
